Full Driving Program in Nova Scotia: What's Included and Why It Matters

Grow Driving School

Choosing the right driving program is one of the most important decisions a new driver can make. Our Full Driving Program at Grow Driving School is approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation & Infrastructure Renewal and is designed to give you everything you need to become a safe, confident driver.

25 Hours of Classroom Education (Online E-Learning)

The classroom portion covers traffic laws, road signs, right-of-way rules, hazard awareness, and defensive driving theory. With our online e-learning platform, you can complete these 25 hours at your own pace from the comfort of your home. Study on your schedule — mornings, evenings, or weekends — whatever works best for you.

10 Hours of In-Car Training

This is where the real learning happens. You’ll spend 10 hours of one-on-one time with a certified instructor in a fully insured training vehicle. Sessions cover everything from basic vehicle control and parking to highway driving, intersections, lane changes, and emergency maneuvers. Each lesson builds on the last, and your instructor adapts to your individual pace and skill level.

Car Provided for Your Road Test

When you’re ready for your road test, you don’t need to worry about finding a suitable vehicle. We provide the car for your driving test — the same vehicle you’ve been training in. This familiarity helps reduce test-day anxiety and gives you the best chance of passing on your first attempt.

Faster ‘N’ Removal

One of the biggest advantages of completing a government-approved driving course in Nova Scotia is the reduction in your Novice (‘N’) designation period. Without an approved course, you must hold your ‘N’ for a longer period with additional restrictions. Our program helps you get to a full license faster.

Lower Insurance Rates

Most insurance companies in Nova Scotia offer discounts to drivers who have completed an approved driving course. The savings on your premiums can be significant — often paying for a large portion of the course itself over the first few years of driving.

Who Is This Program For?

The Full Driving Program is ideal for:

  • New drivers just starting out
  • Teenagers getting their first license
  • Adults learning to drive for the first time

It’s the most comprehensive option we offer and provides the strongest foundation for a lifetime of safe driving.
